Scrimgeour is the founder of The Ginling Collective, a group of Chinese and American scholars and writers who work together to translate poetry.  In addition leading the group in translating and publishing individual poems, he worked with his students, including co-editors Xinyi Guo and Siyan Liu, to edit A Quiet, Little Idea: Salem-Nanjing Poetry Exchange (Derby Wharf Light Box), a chapbook of translations of Salem-area poets.
